Keensight Consulting is a dynamic company and specializes in providing advice in the field of Design, Welding and inspections during new construction, modifications and repairs within the framework of Pressure-Equipment and steel structures. We also give advice or take care of the integrity assessments during the User Phase.
Furthermore, we also provide supervision during new construction and turnarounds.

We are not an accredited Conformity Assessment Body (NL-CBI). We mainly deal with the verifications and work that are normally being carried out by the user and/or manufacturer.
The NL-CBI looks over our shoulders and will eventually carry out a final verification.

About us

Since our foundation in 2006, it has always been our goal to meet the wishes of the customer and to get the most out of it. We therefore embrace the Rotterdam working approach and at the same time we do our utmost to safely deliver the project.

Our Work Field is Oil and Gas, both On- and Offshore, but we see that there is also an increasing demand from the Renewable energy sector for technical advice and inspection personnel.

Inspections

Because Keensight takes care of most of all inspections, a lot of time and costs are often saved because the mandatory part for the NL-CBI turns out to be only a fraction of the overall inspection scope.

We have a practical approach to the work and its implementation, and we are also happy to enter into discussions with the NL-CBI to reach a final compromise. During the manufacturing work, there are also important inspection points that are often not carried out by the NL-CBI because they would not be “mandatory”. For example, if it is found at an early stage that a wrong welding consumable material is being used or that the weld fit-ups are not entirely according to spec, this can save a lot of time and costs. Checking the dimensions is also one of the important parts that are hardly checked by the NL-CBI.

New construction/Repair and modification of pressure equipment

During new construction and repair we can be of service with the following specializations: Verification of the total or partial design, manufacture and installation process of: Pipe (installation) pipes, fittings and fittings according to a specification, design code and/or legal Directive such as the PED or Commodities Act Decree / Regulation for Pressure Equipment (WBDA – based on the PRDA). Also during the installation of piping systems or pipelines (under NEN 3656) we take care of all the necessary inspections according to the inspection plan. The focus is then mainly on:

If you want to purchase products, in addition to the welding- material- and strength technical advice, we also provide advice with regards to the requirements laid down in the applicable National and European Directives.

Keensight also provides you with updates to your drawings after new construction/repairs/changes and can subsequently update your inspection program.

Total corrosion management

Drawing up a corrosion manual and carrying out the annual inspections followed by the preparation of the annual Corrosion Management Report are also one of the services that Keensight provides.

On your request Keensight will take care of the total inspection program for both registered equipment within the WBDA (according to the PRDA) and equipment falling under Labour Directive (according to an RBI method / model).

Structural

With regards to Structural Inspections, Keensight can set up a 5-year program in which, depending on the results of the Fatigue Analysis, in addition to the annual visual inspections, surface crack research is carried out once every five years on the “Critical Nodes” (whether or not determined). This surface crack examination is often done by means of an approved eddy current research method. If desired, these examinations can be carried out with the help of qualified climbing personnel under supervision of an LIII IRATA Supervisor.
