Keensight Consulting

Experts in Design, Welding, Inspection and Integrity

Keensight Consulting provides specialist technical support in the fields of pressure equipment, piping systems and steel structures.

We support clients during new build, repairs, modifications and the operational life of assets, combining hands-on experience, technical expertise and a practical no-nonsense approach. Our focus is always on safety, quality, compliance and efficiency.

We do it safely, or not at all.

Our Services

Keensight Consulting supports clients with:

Design reviews

Welding consultancy

Inspections during fabrication and installation

Integrity assessments during operation

Supervision during construction and turnarounds

Corrosion management

Structural inspections

Product compliance and technical support

We mainly perform the verifications and technical activities that are typically the responsibility of the owner/user and/or manufacturer. The Notified Body or Conformity Assessment Body (EU-CAB/NL-CBI) then carries out the legally required hold points and final verification.

About us

About Keensight Consulting

Since our foundation in 2006, our goal has been simple: to deliver exactly what our clients need and to do so to the highest possible standard.

We believe in a direct, practical and results-driven way of working, with safety at the heart of everything we do.

Our clients are primarily active in the oil and gas industry, both onshore and offshore, although we are also seeing increasing demand from the renewable energy sector for technical consultancy and inspection support.

In practice that means short lines of communication and one dedicated point of contact who knows the project from start to finish. We work alongside your own people — on the shop floor at the manufacturer, on site during construction and on the installation while it is in service — rather than turning up afterwards with a report.

Assignments range from a single design review or a short inspection campaign to a multi-year inspection and corrosion management programme. What they have in common: we look for the solution that is technically sound and workable in the field, and record it so that it stands up to the conformity assessment body and the regulator.

Services

From design review to integrity during operation

01

Inspection Services

By managing a substantial part of the inspection scope from an early stage, Keensight Consulting can help clients save significant time and cost. In many cases, this reduces the mandatory scope of the EU-CAB/NL-CBI to only a small portion of the total inspection programme.

What sets us apart is our practical approach, backed by extensive technical knowledge and real-world field experience. This allows potential issues to be identified and resolved early, before they lead to delays, rework or unnecessary cost.

Our inspection activities may include checks on:

  • materials
  • welding consumables
  • weld preparations
  • dimensions and straightness
  • coating systems
  • insulation and tracing

We can also represent and support our clients in technical discussions with the EU-CAB/NL-CBI to help achieve practical, compliant and workable solutions.

02

New Build, Repairs and Modifications of Pressure Equipment

Keensight Consulting supports clients during the design, fabrication and installation of pressure equipment and piping systems.

We provide verification services for the full process, or for selected parts of it, including:

  • piping systems and pipelines
  • pressure vessels
  • fittings
  • valves and components
  • all other pressure equipment

Our work is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, standards and project requirements, including the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), the Dutch Commodities Act Decree for Pressure Equipment (WBDA), and where applicable the PRDA and NEN 3656.

Our focus typically includes:

  • materials
  • welding processes
  • inspection and test requirements
  • preservation and protective coatings
  • tracing and insulation

We can also support the preparation of:

  • quality plans
  • project specifications
  • inspection plans
  • drawing and documentation updates

Following new build, repairs or modifications, we can also update your inspection programme accordingly.

03

Product and Compliance Support

When purchasing products or equipment, Keensight Consulting can provide specialist advice in the areas of:

  • welding engineering
  • materials engineering
  • strength and mechanical considerations
  • design codes and specifications
  • national and European regulatory requirements

This helps ensure that the selected products are not only technically suitable, but also fully aligned with the applicable codes, directives and compliance requirements.

04

Independent, Practical Support

Keensight Consulting is not an accredited Conformity Assessment Body. Instead, we focus on the practical verification work and technical support that normally sit with the owner/user or manufacturer.

The Conformity Assessment Body remains responsible for the required statutory review points and final verification. This often results in a more efficient process, better preparation and reduced overall project cost.

Our added value lies in:

  • practical execution
  • strong technical expertise
  • clear communication
  • effective coordination with third-party inspection and certification bodies

05

Total Corrosion Management

Keensight Consulting also provides support in the field of total corrosion management.

Our services may include:

  • preparation of corrosion manuals
  • annual corrosion inspections
  • reporting and follow-up
  • annual corrosion management reports

Corrosion Monitoring / Pressure Equipment

Where required, we can manage the complete inspection programme for:

  • registered pressure equipment under the WBDA in accordance with the PRDA
  • duty-of-care equipment based on an approved RBI methodology or model

This gives clients greater control over safety, integrity, compliance and long-term asset performance.

06

Structural Inspection

We also support structural integrity management during the operational phase.

Keensight Consulting can develop a multi-year inspection programme based on fatigue assessments and operational risk. Depending on the outcome, this may include:

  • annual visual inspections
  • five-yearly surface crack inspections
  • inspection of designated critical nodes
  • eddy current testing
  • deployment of qualified rope access personnel where required

07

Design Review

We can carry out an independent review of design documentation and engineering deliverables.

Our expertise includes the review of:

  • flexibility analyses
  • risk assessments, including HAZOPs and HAZIDs
  • piping specifications
  • structural specifications
  • 3D model reviews
  • isometrics and supports
  • P&IDs

Why Keensight

Why Keensight Consulting

Clients choose Keensight Consulting for:

Extensive hands-on industry experience

On site since 2006 during new build, repairs, modifications and turnarounds — onshore and offshore.

Specialist knowledge of pressure equipment and piping systems

PED, WBDA, PRDA and NEN 3656 are daily business, from material selection and welding process to examination and test requirements.

A strong combination of consultancy, inspection and supervision

The same party that reviews the design also sees it again on the shop floor. What is agreed in the review does not get lost in execution.

A pragmatic and results-focused approach

Deviations surface while they are still cheap to resolve, not at final verification.

Uncompromising attention to safety, quality and cost control

By drawing a sharp line around the mandatory CAB scope, the inspection scope stays manageable without cutting into what is legally required.
